Super Famicom Games (Japan)
Japanese Super Famicom games. Japanese boxes often survive in better shape than European ones, and many still have the manual, registration card and inner tray.
Compatibility: Plays on a Japanese Super Famicom. A European SNES has the same cartridge shape but a lockout chip, and a US SNES has plastic tabs in the slot that block Japanese cartridges, so both need a converter or a modded console. A few games also refuse to run on a 50 Hz machine.
Buying Japanese games
Japanese copies often cost less than European ones and tend to be in better shape. Plenty of good games also never left Japan. These are the questions we get most.
Will Japanese games work on my European console?
It depends on the console. Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and PSP games are region free. Most home consoles are region locked, so you need a Japanese console, a converter or a modded machine. Each game page says what that console needs.
What does complete in box (CIB) mean?
The game comes with its original box and manual. Extras like a spine card, registration card or map are listed separately on the product page.
How do you grade condition?
We grade the box, the manual and the cartridge or disc separately, from Mint down to Poor. The photos show the copy you buy, and we mention every flaw we notice in the description.
Do I need to read Japanese to play?
Not for action games, shooters, platformers or most sports and racing games. RPGs and adventure games have a lot of text, so check for an English release or a fan translation if that matters to you.
Can I combine games and records in one order?
Yes. Everything ships from Sweden in one parcel, and shipping is worked out on the total weight.
Do you buy Japanese games?
Yes, single games and whole collections. Send us a list or a few photos through the sell page.
